SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Ninth Annual Sylacauga City Schools (SCS) 5K/10K Run, through the help of corporate sponsors, raised $25,650 for the SCS Foundation on Saturday, Oct. 26.

There were over 200 runners and more than 60 volunteers on hand to make the run event a success. 16-year-old Jackson Carter was the overall winner, completing the 5K Run in a time of 17:57.8.

25-year-old Caleb Polland took top honors in the 10K Run, with a time of 48:31.3.

Founded in 1988, the SCS Foundation has presented over $1.3 million in grants to schools, teachers, and administrators.
