SYLACAUGA, Ala. – After drawing a strong crowd at its debut last month, Sylacauga Parks and Recreation is bringing back ‘The Kickback,’ a free evening event designed for local teens.
The second installment will take place Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Central Park, across from Blue Bell Creameries. The event is open exclusively to teens in the age range of 14–18 and offers a safe, social space with food, music, and entertainment.
DJ Weechie Entertainment, also known as Demetrius Thomas, will return to provide music throughout the evening. This time, Thomas is sponsoring the event by donating his services.
Food will be available for purchase from Bubble Cheese food truck, which will serve lemonades, boba, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Teens are encouraged to bring money to support vendors.
Admission is free, and seating will be provided, though attendees may bring lawn chairs. Security staff will be present.
