SYLACAUGA, Ala. -The Sylacauga City Schools Foundation (SCSF) will present the 57th chair to The Class of 1962 on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 4:00 in the Sylacauga High School foyer.
“The Class of 1962 pulled together the $25,000 in contributions and once that happens we present them with the chair,” said Carol Sprayberry, Executive Director of SCSF. “We invite and encourage everyone to attend this monumental event.”
According to the SCSF website, The Foundation Chair recognizes patrons who, exemplifying the highest level of involvement and support, have donated a minimum contribution of $25,000.
Sprayberry said that the foundation was founded in 1988 and has raised $2,102,369 since that year. 1,146 grants have been given that have affected 355,680 total students.
The SCSF’s mission statement is as follows: “To improve the quality of education for children by providing financial support to teachers and programs.”
