SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Arc of South Talladega County is hosting its first-ever BBQ Bailout this Friday, Aug. 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Corner Spot in downtown Sylacauga.
It’s a two-part fundraiser that features $12 pulled pork plate sales, along with a tongue-in-cheek “bailout” challenge featuring candidates for Sylacauga Mayor and City Council positions in the upcoming municipal elections.
Candidates will be “locked up” and will need to raise donations to be bailed out. A playful twist to the process allows those in attendence to donate again to put them back behind bars.
Plates include pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw, and a cookie. Online preorders closed last week for on-site pickup this Friday.
All proceeds from the event will benefit The Arc of South Talladega County, which serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
