SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Kiwanis Club of Sylacauga will be hosting the 66th annual “Pancake Day” on Saturday.
The event will take place at Sylacauga High School in the lunchroom. Attendees are offered the option to do either dine in or take out.
There will be $5 tickets at the door, but you can pick up tickets beforehand at Southern States Bank, Marble City Pharmacy, B.B. Comer Memorial Library, The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce or from any Kiwanis Key or Builders Club Member.
The breakfast attendance will range anywhere from 12,000 to 15,000 people, according to Pancake Day Chairman Marty Garrett. Over 4,000 pancakes and 3,000 sausages will be prepared for the event.
“All of the proceeds go to the local community to assist all of the kids,” said Garrett. “It is kind of like a big town family reunion.”
Many local businesses have donated for Pancake Day including:
- Allens Brew Market – coffee
- Piggly Wiggly – syrup and butter
- Sonic – to-go butter
- Barber’s – milk and orange juice
- Jack’s and Huddle House – plates and to-go plates
