CHILDERSBURG, Ala. – You’re sure to find a lot of family-friendly fun at the Kymulga Grist Mill Park on Saturday, June 29, and it’ll be for a great cause – programs in support of area kids!
It’s the 2024 Rubber Duck Race and Family Fun Day from the Childersburg Kiwanis Club.
There’ll be a wide variety of vendors, including food, a coloring contest, and other fun activities for the kids, and, of course, the main attraction is the Duck Race itself.
Organizers from Childersburg Kiwanis say they have a few vendor spots available, but you’d better hurry if you want to secure a spot. You can do so at the Greater Coosa Valley Chamber building on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Who knows? You and your duck(s) could win a lot of money.
Third place earns a $250 prize, $500 for second place, and a cool $1,000 for first place.
It starts with “adopting” a rubber duck for the race. You can do that by stopping by one of the following financial institutions – Cadence Bank, Renasant Bank, Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union, or Heritage South Credit Union in Sylacauga.
Other “Rubber Duck Adoption Centers” include Pam’s Hair Heaven, the Rainwater Library, or the Greater Coosa Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The cost to “adopt” a rubber duck for the race is $5, with special packages available if you want to adopt a whole flock.
Remember, the money raised from the day will go to things like Kiwanis Park improvements, scholarships for local high school graduating seniors, and any number of other programs in support of area children.
