SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Talladega County is embarking on a new mission to help combat the litter issue throughout the county.

District 5 County Commissioner, Phillip Morris has announced the Alabama PALS 2021 “Don’t Drop It On Alabama” Spring Clean-Up event being held in Talladega County, District 5 during the month of April.

The event is being launched as a renewed initiative to address anti-litter education, litter prevention practices, and litter pickup efforts in our area to work towards a clean, litter-free community.

“Phillip and I both had noticed the litter on the highways, roadways and streets in the county and our community and were inspired to act,” said District 5 volunteer Sondra Epperson. “We discussed the need for increased awareness, anti-litter education, and community engagement, and the campaign was launched.”

Here is the schedule for each clean-up event:

March 20 – Fayetteville
March 27 – Childersburg ( 7:30 a.m.)
April 17- Munford
April 24 – Sylacauga (8 a.m. to noon)

Supplies towards the clean-up effort have been donated by ‘Keep Alabama Beautiful’ and ‘Alabama People Against a Littered State’.

Individuals interested in volunteering in any way such us an individual, team lead, civic group, church, school organization, business sponsor, or event donor, please contact Sondra Epperson at [email protected].
