TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office has announced a bust by their Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.) executed on Friday morning, May 29.
The operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of contraband – including methamphetamine, cocaine, spice, marijuana, MDMA, firearms, and drug paraphernalia – as well as cash.
Authorities arrested Jelani Bakari Russ, 47, who was charged with four counts of trafficking, first-degree possession of marijuana, certain persons forbidden to carry a firearm, second-degree receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force was also credited by the sheriff’s department for helping coordinate the successful operation.
