TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. – Friday night, Jan. 27, the Sylacauga Aggies got a little revenge on the Panthers of Prattville Christian Academy on Senior Night at Sylacauga High School’s Douglass-Martin Court.

In a low-scoring, defensive battle, the home team received great guard play along with an extremely hard fought and tough effort from Connor Twymon, Grant Hickey, and “Q” Swain to preserve a 47-41 victory on a night that a crowd witnessed senior boys’ and girls’ basketball players and cheerleaders honored.

Coach Kent Fullington said, “Our defense was absolutely terrific tonight, and that is a team that whipped us on the road in the first game of the year, so this was a huge confidence building win for us.”

The Aggies do not play this week as they closed out the regular season and will look to host both boys’ and girls’ area tournaments next week.

The Childersburg Tigers went on the road to B.B. Comer also on Friday and saw the guys in blue defeat the home black and gold Tigers for the third time this season.

The game was very physical and a large number of fouls occurred with Childersburg being plagued by that foul trouble, and Kamore Harris fouled out for Coach Marcus Herbert’s B.B. Comer Tigers. The 64-61 win for Childersburg pushed their record to 18-4.

Coach Johnny Johnson said, “Our senior leadership proved important tonight and again, Ja’Kaleb Stone really played well for us. It is very hard to beat a big physical team like B.B. Comer three times in a season. I’m very proud of the kids.”
