Talladega County COVID-19 update; counties across the state at very high risk for spreading the virus

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – While things are slowly getting back to normal, individuals should still take precaution to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

According to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 risk indicator, there is a very high amount of COVID-19 activity in Talladega County placing it in the ‘red’ category.

Talladega County is currently reporting 8,498 positive COVID-19 cases. Talladega County has reported a total of 185 deaths due to COVID-19.

The state of Alabama alone is currently reporting 552,911 positive COVID-19 cases. Alabama has recorded 11,387 deaths due to COVID-19.

While residents across the state of Alabama continue to make strides against the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccination numbers are low compared to other states across the United States. Residents are encouraged to receive the vaccine.
