SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Talladega County Band Directors Association is hosting this year’s Talladega County Concert Band Preview.
The concert bands of B.B. Comer, Fayetteville, Nichols-Lawson, Sylacauga, Winterboro, Childersburg, Lincoln, and Munford will all be performing at this year’s event.
“Many people in the community are familiar with our marching bands, but the concert bands are great, too,” said B.B. Comer Band Director Daniel Seaborn.
The band directors are in the process of developing a program for the evening which will state performance selections by each band, as well as the schedule for the evening, so be on the lookout.
The event will be held at the B.B. Comer High School Auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Admission is $3 which will help fund the Talladega County Band Directors Scholarship Fund.
At each year’s event, two scholarships are given to two seniors – one for $1,000 and one for $500. The scholarship recipients this year were Evan Garris from Sylacauga High School for the $500 scholarship, and Tucker Hernandez from Winterboro High School for the $1,000 scholarship. Both students are going to college to advance their music education.
