Talladega County Commission to address road safety, animal issues, and administrative matters

TALLADEGA, Ala. –  The Talladega County Commission is scheduled to meet on Monday, Jan. 12, with a work session beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by the regular commission meeting at 6:00 p.m.

During the meeting, commissioners are expected to hear discussion items including concerns from Steve Callahan regarding speeding on a road in District 1, a presentation by Stephanie Engle on a stray dog initiative, and an update from The Feral Dogs of Avondale Mills.

Action items on the agenda include approval of the minutes from the Dec. 22, 2025 meeting, approval of the annual Rebuild Alabama report and certification, and approval of the relocation of the Winterboro polling site for Beat 9, Box 1 due to storm damage.

Commissioners will also consider the reappointment of DHR Advisory Board members Ada Hamilton, Louis Zook, and Charles Bonner. Additional action items include personnel matters, a conference request, and expenditures.
