Talladega County Board of Education approves nearly $1 million in construction projects

TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Talladega County Board of Education has approved three construction projects for district schools, including a new driveway at Lincoln High School, new flooring at Stemley Road Elementary School, and a new batting facility at Munford High School.

Board members awarded a $373,083 contract to H.N. Donahoo Contracting Co. Inc. for the construction of a new exit-only driveway on the Drew Middle School side of the Lincoln High campus. The project is intended to improve the flow of car-rider traffic during student pickup and dismissal.

The board also approved a $324,000 contract with Dominguez Design-Build Inc. to replace flooring at Stemley Road Elementary School.

In addition, Milam & Company LLC was awarded a $266,268 contract to construct a new batting facility at Munford High School. School officials said the facility is expected to be completed in time for next season.

The three projects combined will cost a total of $963,351.
