SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Almost everyone in Sylacauga is excited about the new shopping center on Highway 280, not only for new shopping opportunities, but for new job opportunities, as well.
T.J. Maxx will be the first store to open in the new shopping center. It put up its building sign on the storefront on Friday Jan. 26, and is getting ready to begin the hiring process.
According to a Facebook post by the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, officials from T.J. Maxx will be at J. Craig Smith Community Center on Feb. 5 and 6 from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. taking applications, reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
According to the Assistant Superintendent of the Hutton Group, Mark Posey, the opening date for T.J. Maxx is set for Feb. 17. Hutton Group is the retail development partner that specializes in construction and leasing of single- and multi-tenant grocery stores and shopping centers nationwide and has completed more than 200 owned and managed developments encompassing more than 10 million square feet across almost 1,000 locations in 37 states.
The Chamber of Commerce Facebook page says the tentative grand opening celebration will be held March 18.
