SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company has announced its 2025-26 lineup, featuring an engaging mix of theatre, ballet, and musical productions.
The season opens in October with “Emma,” a stage adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel. The production follows self-proclaimed matchmaker Emma Woodhouse as her misguided romantic meddling leads to great self-discovery.
In November, the annual holiday ballet “Christmas Angels” returns. Created and choreographed by artistic coordinator Jeanna Sumners, the original production contrasts the joy of the season with the struggles of displaced children during the holidays.
March brings “Anastasia,” a musical inspired by the 1997 animated film and the legend of the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna who may have escaped the fall of the Russian Imperial family.
The spring recital “A Million Dreams” takes place April 25, 2026, showcasing local dance talent.
Rounding out the season in June is “Lion King Kids,” a youth musical featuring Simba’s journey from playful cub to rightful king.
The Southern Dance and Performing Arts Company, a program of the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating a solid and focused experience for each student – on and off stage – providing unique performing arts programs.
