SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Laura Strickland, President and CEO of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, has been named the 2025 Alabama Chambers Professional of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, honoring her outstanding career achievements, leadership, and service to the chamber profession.
With more than eight years of dedicated service — five of those in her current role — Strickland has transformed the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce into a trendsetter and regional leader in economic development, workforce innovation, and community engagement.
Known for her visionary leadership and consistent passion for her community, Strickland has built impactful partnerships, championed small businesses, and launched initiatives that link students with career pathways.
Her influence stretches far beyond her title.
From serving on the Association’s board to engaging with countless local organizations, Strickland is regarded as a mentor, collaborator and advocate.
One anonymous nominator for the Association called her “a steady anchor to all the ships she boards,” adding, “She isn’t a boss, she’s a mentor, a friend, a mom, a confidant, a role model.”
