SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga volleyball has made quick work of area play this season.
Last night at Sylacauga High School, the team knocked off the rival, and defending area champion Shelby County Wildcats in straight sets, which is no easy task.
The first set went down to the wire 25-23. The second two sets were all Aggies, 25-16, 25-19.
With the match win, Sylacauga stayed perfect in area play (4-0), and advanced to 11-3 overall.
“I really like the way our team has improved throughout the season,” said first-year head coach Rebecca Paterson. “We’ve gotten much better, and they really brought the energy when it mattered in area play. We are going to continue to improve as we hit the home stretch, and make sure we are hitting our stride as the postseason nears.”
Now the Aggies turn the attention to the county volleyball tournament on Saturday before facing Childersburg and Fayetteville at Fayetteville on Sept. 28.
