Sylacauga volleyball splits with Fayetteville, Briarwood Thursday night

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Competition was fierce at Sylacauga High Thursday night as the Lady Aggie volleyball team welcomed the Fayetteville Wolves and the Briarwood Lions to compete in a tri-match on the varsity level.

Match one against Fayetteville went the full three sets with Sylacauga and Fayetteville battling in set one, but the Aggies pulling away 25-19. The Wolves took set two 23-25. With the match up for grabs, Sylacauga dominated set three taking it 15-5 along with the match.

Match two for the varsity Aggies was competitive, although Sylacauga came up just short versus Briarwood. The Lady Lions took the match in straight sets. 20-25, 17-25.

Sylacauga will be back on the floor on Aug. 31 at Fayetteville. Childersburg is also scheduled to be in attendance for the tri-match.
