SYLACAUGA, Ala. – On Monday night, Oct. 7, Sylacauga High School’s volleyball team celebrated its senior class in a special ceremony as part of their Senior Night festivities.
The Aggies took on Pell City and Fayetteville in a night filled with competitive matches, but the highlight came between games, when the team paused to honor its eight seniors.
Ashley Murphy, Catherine Price, Sophie and Josie Harshberger, Janiya Garrett, Ella Kate Green, Anna B. Shaw, and Addison Roberts were all recognized for their dedication and contributions to the volleyball program.
This senior class has been instrumental in Sylacauga’s success over the past few seasons, having reached the state tournament twice. Their leadership and teamwork have not only helped elevate the team’s performance but also built a strong bond within the squad.
The Aggies brought intensity to the court, determined to give their seniors a proper send-off.
Both matches against Pell City and Fayetteville were hard-fought, showcasing the skill and resilience the seniors have honed over the years. With their high school volleyball careers winding down, this group of athletes has left an undeniable legacy at Sylacauga, one marked by achievement, perseverance, and camaraderie.
The team will look to make its way back to state as postseason play begins next week with the area tournament.
