SMITHS STATION, Ala. – Sylacauga Track and Field came away from the Class 5A, Section 2 sectional with two new school records and a strong collection of personal-best performances across the board.
The boys’ 4×100-meter relay team of Corbyn Patterson, Zakorien Chambliss, Tre Wright, and DeArian “Juice” Riley broke the school record with a time of 42.70, topping their previous mark of 43.09 set earlier this month.
The boys’ 4×400-meter relay team of Patterson, Jeremiah Crawford, Qun Lewis, and Riley also set a school record, finishing in 3:26.38.
The girls’ relay teams added two personal records. The 4×400 team ran 4:13.33, and the 4×800 team finished in 11:42.10.

- Jamaiya Meeks, 300m hurdles (50.91) and 100/110m hurdles (17.34)
- Jada Fluker, 800m (2:51.68)
- Donovan Averette, 800m (2:06.07)
- Kennadi Thomas, 100m hurdles (18.59)
Sylacauga finished runner-up in the 16-team field.
The Aggies will compete in the AHSAA State Meet in Gulf Shores from April 30 to May 2.
