SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce and Sylacauga Parks and Recreation are adding extra holiday cheer with a special “Santa in the Park” event on Friday, Dec. 19, just days before Christmas.
The free, family-friendly celebration will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Central Park. Santa will be on hand for visits, and children will have the opportunity to drop off letters to Santa if they are unable to see him elsewhere during the season.
Activities planned for the evening include a reindeer food station, balloons, face tattoos, a photo booth, and a stroll through the Tinsel Trail. The ShyTato food truck will also be on site offering food for purchase.
Ice skating will be available as part of the city’s “Skate the Season in Sylacauga” attraction. The skating rink will be open from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Admission to the park and holiday activities is free, while ice skating costs $10 per person, which includes skate rental.
Organizers say the added night is designed to give families another opportunity to celebrate the season together before Christmas.
