SYLACAUGA Ala. – Sylacauga tennis coach Cindy Cleveland has been selected as the coach for the North Girls All-Star team.
On Tuesday, Jamie Lee, Director of the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association announced the North-South Girls’ and Boys’ Tennis All-Star Teams and their coaches for the recently canceled 2020 AHSAA North-South All-Star Sports Week.
“I am honored to be chosen as the coach for the North Girls All-Star team,” said Cleveland. “I consider it a privilege to be chosen to work with such a talented group of athletes.”
The All-Star games were canceled earlier this week due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are proud to announce these teams even though we are disappointed the All-Star competition set for the All-Star Sports Week this summer has been canceled,” said Lee.
Cleveland has been the tennis coach for both boys and girls teams at SHS for the last 13 years.
The Aggies 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the shortened 2020 season, the varsity girls team went (4-0), while the varsity boys went (0-4).
