SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga senior pitcher and first baseman Natalee Deason signed her letter of intent Friday afternoon, April 25, to continue her softball career at Reid State Technical College.
The signing ceremony took place in the Sylacauga High School Media Center, where Deason officially joined the Evergreen-based program, a member of the Alabama Community College Conference.
Deason has anchored the Lady Aggies in the center circle throughout her senior season, leading the team to a regular season area championship and a runner-up finish in the area tournament.
In the tournament’s opening game, she threw eight innings against Briarwood, allowing just one run. She followed that performance with six strong innings against Shelby County, surrendering only one earned run.
Next week, Deason will lead Sylacauga into the Central Regional Tournament in Montgomery, where they’ll open against Beauregard on Monday.
In addition to her success on the diamond, Deason also stood out on the basketball court, earning All-Talladega County Honorable Mention honors this past season.
Deason will begin her collegiate softball career next spring.
