SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sporting history was made in Sylacauga last Saturday, Aug. 26, as Heritage South Credit Union hosted the inaugural Big Dill Pickleball Tournament at the Sylacauga Tennis Center.
The tournament, which drew over forty participants and more than one hundred spectators, served not only as a thrilling competition but also as a charitable endeavor.
Beth Chance, President of the Heritage South Charity Committee, said, “This is such a wonderful event for the community. As pickleball continues to grow, we are excited to be at the forefront and provide this opportunity to players and to host this event.”
The tournament attracted participants from across the state. Heritage South extended their gratitude to sponsors and participants and announced plans to return with another tournament in the Spring of 2024.
The victors of the inaugural Big Dill Pickleball Tournament were as follows:
Men’s Doubles: Creed Clardy and Robert Ogle
Women’s Doubles: Nicole Compher and Kelsey Efferson
Mixed Doubles: Doug Compher and Nicole Compher
Men’s Singles: Jonathon Douglas
