SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The City of Sylacauga is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Presiding Municipal Judge for the Sylacauga Municipal Court.
Interested individuals are invited to submit their resumes to City Clerk Alexandra Lambert by email at [email protected] by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, July 12.
To be considered, applicants must hold a valid license to practice law in Alabama and be qualified electors in the state. They cannot be employed by the City of Sylacauga in any other capacity during the two-year term, and they must have a law office located within the city limits with a current business license.
The responsibilities of the Presiding Municipal Judge will include adjudicating misdemeanor crimes and collaborating with court personnel to ensure the smooth functioning of the municipal court. The appointment process, term of office, and qualifications are governed by the Code of Alabama, Section 12-14-30.
