Sylacauga residents cruise the strip for the semiannual “Meet Me in Town” event

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Twice a year, many generations of people from Sylacauga get together for “Meet Me in Town.”

Many people come out and cruise the downtown streets in their hot rods, shiny nice cars, or big fancy trucks.

“Some ride the streets playing music, other do burnouts, and we all have a lot fun,” said Sylacauga local, Jerry Wayne Gay.

The semiannual event gives the community a change to come together as one and share the tradition of cruising the downtown district.

Details about the event can be found on the “Meet Me in Town” Facebook page.
