SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Public Transportation provides reliable, low-cost transportation options for city residents, offering services tailored to seniors, disabled individuals, and those in workforce programs.
Public fares are $2 for the first five miles and $1 for each additional five miles. Seniors 55 and older and disabled riders pay just $1 per trip within city limits.
Operating throughout the week from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the service includes a monthly round trip to Birmingham every fourth Tuesday for $20. Riders can also enjoy free trips on their birthdays, to the polls on Election Day, and during the annual Christmas Lights Tour.
Special programs include WFRT (WorkForce Ready Transportation) and JOBS through the DHR Welfare to Work Program. Sylacauga Public Transportation also partners with ALTRANS as part of the SAFE Family Services Center and the Sylacauga Housing Authority.
