SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The 13th Annual Ultimate Ball Drop will be Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 after the Sylacauga versus Central of Clay County football game.
Sylacauga’s Promise, in conjunction with SAFE Family Services, are spearheading the annual Sylacauga’s Promise Ultimate Golf Ball Drop. The ball drop is the only fundraiser held each year, and the proceeds are used to benefit the community youth programs, such as the after-school Bridges tutoring program, Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), and Sylacauga Grows Community Garden. It helps with the funds to ensure every child has the opportunity to have the five promises fulfilled in their lives:
- Caring Adults
- Safe Places
- Healthy Start for a Healthy Future
- An Effective Education
- Opportunities to Serve
“SAFE supports our families every day of the year,” said Debbie Danelutt, from the Sylacauga Promise Committee. “I hope people take this chance to support the SAFE family.”
Many businesses donate $5 for each of their employees for an opportunity to win $5,000.
“This is a great opportunity for employers to show employee appreciation by making a donation on behalf of each employee,” said Danelutt.
If a business wants to purchase tickets for the event, call SAFE at (256) 245-4343 or Danelutt at (256) 404-2359, and she will deliver the tickets to the business.
Tickets will also be sold at the ballgame. You do not have to be present to win.
