SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Police Department (SPD) has secured a two-count capital murder warrant following the tragic shooting death of Tamekia Fluker that occurred last Monday, Feb. 26.
The warrants, issued for charges of shooting from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied residence, are linked to the untimely demise of Fluker.
In a press release, Chief Kelley Johnson of the SPD stated, “The loss of Tamekia Fluker is a tragedy that has deeply affected our community. Our department has been working tirelessly to investigate this case, and we are pleased to announce that we have obtained warrants for two counts of capital murder in connection with her death. We will continue to work diligently to ensure that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.”
Authorities are seeking 16-year-old Jamir De’Jawn Russ, also known as “JD,” in connection with Fluker’s murder. Russ faces a two-count Capital Murder warrant.
