SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Police Department is mourning the loss of Investigator David “Brennen” Miller, a respected officer and U.S. Army veteran whose legacy of service spanned decades.

Miller previously served with distinction in the United States Army and retired from the Birmingham Police Department before joining the Investigations Division at the Sylacauga Police Department.

The department shared a heartfelt tribute to Miller on its official Facebook page, describing him as a “dedicated public servant” whose contributions will not be forgotten.

“Investigator Miller brought with him a wealth of experience, insight, and professionalism that elevated those around him,” the department wrote. “His commitment to justice, unwavering integrity, and calm presence made a lasting impact on our department and the community we serve.”

Colleagues remembered Miller not only as a skilled investigator but also as a friend, mentor, and “brother in blue.”

“His loss is deeply felt across our ranks,” the tribute continued, “and he will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of serving alongside him.”

The Sylacauga Police Department asked the community to keep Miller’s family, friends, and fellow officers in their thoughts and prayers.

The post ended with a simple, heartfelt farewell:

“Rest easy, Investigator Miller. We’ve got it from here.”
