SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Parks and Recreation is thrilled to announce the official grand opening of a fully ADA-accessible playground at Noble Park, located at 101 E 10th St. The event is set for Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10:00 a.m.
The new playground, designed to accommodate children of all ages and abilities, represents a major step toward community engagement and another opportunity for quality youth recreation in Sylacauga.
Highlights of the opening event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, complimentary Chick-fil-A biscuits for the first 30 attendees, hot beverages from Gigi’s Java, live music, and a chance to explore the state-of-the-art play equipment.
Funded through a recent tax increase and a grant from Struthers Recreation, the playground features three distinct play areas.
A smaller structure is tailored to younger children and those with physical or intellectual challenges, while a larger structure encourages older kids to develop balance, strength, and coordination. Transferable features, such as disc swings and a merry-go-round, ensure children of all abilities can enjoy the playground together.
Additional sensory panels and creative elements will promote imagination and social engagement, providing a well-rounded play experience. Fully fenced for safety, the new playground will be an environment where families can relax and children can thrive.
Community members are invited to join the festivities and see firsthand how local tax dollars are creating positive change.
