SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Sylacauga Parks and Recreation will host a free laser tag event on Friday, Jan. 9, transforming the J. Craig Smith Community Center into a full-scale laser tag arena for an evening of family-friendly fun.
The event will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., with 30-minute time slots available throughout the evening. Each reservation covers one game, with groups limited to 16 participants per session.
Laser tag is a recreational game in which players score points by tagging opponents’ targeted vests using handheld infrared devices. Unlike paintball, the game is completely painless and requires no projectiles, making it safer and more accessible for participants of all ages.
Upon arrival, players will be divided into two teams and compete until one team remains standing. The event is open to children and adults ages four and up.
Central Alabama Community College’s Adult Learning Program will be on-site providing refreshments for attendees.
Although the event is free, advance reservations are required. Time slots can be booked online at Sylacauga.recdesk.com under the Special Events category or by calling the J. Craig Smith Community Center at (256) 249-8561.
