SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Who says Easter egg hunts are just for kids?
Sylacauga Parks and Recreation is bringing back its popular Adult Easter Egg Hunt this March, inviting those 18 and older to compete for weekly prizes hidden throughout the city’s parks.
The event will take place each Friday in March – March 6, 13, 20 and 27 – with one prize-filled egg hidden in a different Sylacauga city park each week. At 8:00 a.m. sharp on Fridays, a photo clue revealing the egg’s location will be posted on the department’s social media pages. From there, the hunt begins.
The first participant to find the egg and return it to the J. Craig Smith Community Center will win that week’s prize. Organizers say only one prize is allowed per person during the monthlong event.
Unlike traditional egg hunts filled with candy and small toys, this competition features giveaways sponsored by several local businesses. This year’s partners include B&A Photography, Live Out Loud Designs, Brown Butter Bakery, and Kristina Erwin Photography.
Parks and Recreation officials describe the event as a mix of adventure and friendly competition designed to encourage adults to explore Sylacauga’s parks in a new way while supporting local businesses.
The hidden eggs will rotate among various city parks, though specific locations will only be revealed through the weekly photo clues.
Organizers encourage participants to follow Sylacauga Parks and Recreation on social media for updates and to be ready when the clues drop each Friday morning.
For those seeking bragging rights, prizes, or simply a reason to get outdoors, the department says this March, the eggs are strictly for adults.
