SHARE NOW

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Parks and Recreation Department has commenced with its newest event called the Sylacauga Rec Quest, a QR scavenger hunt taking place from Tuesday, July 18 to Sunday, August 13.

Participants have been invited to embark on a journey through Sylacauga as they follow clues leading to eight different Parks and Rec Department locations, each housing a QR code.

Scanning the correct code at each site unlocks a series of activities and challenges, allowing players to accumulate points. Completing additional tasks will grant bonus points.

Individuals and teams can join in the fun, but teams are required to share one device and will be eligible for a single prize.

Speaking of prizes, the winners will be handsomely rewarded for their skills and efforts. The top-ranked player or team will receive $100 Chamber Bucks, followed by $75 Chamber Bucks for second place, and $50 Chamber Bucks for third place.

Meanwhile, participants landing in the fourth to tenth positions will receive a $20 household credit in Recdesk, applicable to a Parks and Rec-affiliated program of their choice.

To partake in the scavenger hunt, download the Eventzee app on your smartphone and use the event code “SPARD” to access the Sylacauga Rec Quest. From there, the app will guide you through the exciting challenges.

In the event of a tie, additional challenges and bonus point opportunities will be introduced, spicing up the competition.

However, a maximum of 50 players or devices will be allowed to participate, making it crucial to swiftly secure your spot.
