Sylacauga Mayor says regular trash will also be collected on your recycling day

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Many residents of Sylacauga did not have their garbage collected at the end of last week following Hurricane Zeta.

Downed power lines and trees prevented garbage trucks from making their normal routes.

Sylacauga Mayor Jim Heigl says he has spoken with the city’s garbage contractor about the situation.

Heigl updated the public on Facebook. He stated the city’s contractors will collect normal trash on a regular recycling can pickup day as well as the recycling can.
