Sylacauga man killed while fleeing law enforcement on motorcycle

AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. – A Sylacauga man fleeing from law enforcement on a motorcycle is dead after the incident resulted in a 2-vehicle crash, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Justin Dewayne Sims, 29, was killed when the 2002 Suzuki motorcycle he was driving collided with a 2013 Ford Edge at 6:30 pm.m Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to State Troopers, at the time of the crash, Sims was refusing to stop for the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred on Autauga Co. Rd. 65 near Autauga Co. Rd. 20, approximately ten miles north of Prattville.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
