Sylacauga man killed in Sunday crash near Stewartville

COOSA COUNTY, Ala. – The life of a Sylacauga man was claimed in an early Sunday morning crash in Coosa County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 37-year-old Jerry William Duke was killed in a single-vehicle accident when the 2002 Chevy Impala he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees before catching fire.

Duke was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred at 12:35 a.m. on Coosa Co. Road 70, two miles west of the Stewartville community.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
