Sylacauga man killed in single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Alabama Hwy 21

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A single-vehicle crash that occurred on Monday morning, April 20 has claimed the life of a Sylacauga man, according to authorities.

32-year old James R. Jones was fatally injured when the 2019 Kawasaki Z650 motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck several trees at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Monday. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama Hwy 21 near the 214 mile-marker within the city limits of Sylacauga in Talladega County.

No other vehicles were involved, and no additional injuries were reported.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials said no further information is available at this time.
