Sylacauga man killed after motorcycle accident in DeKalb County

FORT PAYNE, Ala. – A motorcycle crash in DeKalb County left a Sylacauga man dead on Wednesday morning, June 29.

Joey S. Wooten, 51, was killed after the motorcycle he was riding struck a deer while he was traveling on County Rd. 81 about three miles south of Fort Payne.

Wooten was transported to DeKalb Regional Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol division is still investigating the incident.
