Sylacauga man dead after Saturday Oxford crash

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga man is dead after a wreck in Oxford on Saturday.

According to Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown, 19-year-old Matthew Lee Phillips was killed in a wreck around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bynum Boulevard and Alabama 202.

Phillips, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected and suffered from blunt force trauma.

Phillips was pronounced dead on the scene.
