SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga man was arrested and charged after allegedly attempting to meet a 13-year-old boy for sex in Munford on Feb. 24.
Jonathan Hess, 35, was apprehended by deputies before he was able to meet the child. The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a family member of the child’s interactions with Hess via social media, according to Talladega County Chief Deputy Josh Tubbs.
Hess is currently being held with a $100,000 bond. He faces multiple charges inclduing; Enticement of a Child for Immoral Purposes, Traveling to Meet a Child for a Sex Act, Electronic Solicitation of a Child, possession of marijuana in the second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.
“Our investigators started working the case early, and found that he was trying to meet the victim,” said Tubbs. “Fortunately, we had the deputies in place before he was ever able to make contact.”
