SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A Sylacauga man was arrested on Tuesday, April 29 after allegedly firing multiple shots into an occupied vehicle, according to court records.
25-year old Caleb Rodriguez is accused of attempting to murder two people by shooting 10 rounds at their vehicle on or around the date of Wednesday, April 16.
The gunfire struck the driver in the left forearm and hit the vehicle five to six times, records show. A passenger was also inside the automobile at the time of the shooting.
Rodriguez faces two counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
Court documents show Rodriguez has an extensive criminal history, including a 2020 arrest for third-degree robbery and providing false information to a police officer. He has also previously faced multiple charges of theft as well as breaking and entering.
Rodriguez is currently in custody as the case proceeds through the court system.
