SYLACAUGA, Ala. – 22-year old Tremarkus Tremaine Garrett, of Sylacauga, has been arrested on a Capital Murder warrant, the Sylacauga Police Department (SPD) announced in a press release on Tuesday afternoon, June 25.
Garrett’s arrest stems from a shooting incident that took place on Nov. 26, 2023, at 241 Fluker St. in the Drew Court Housing Community.
Officers responding to a report of shots fired discovered 23-year-old Darrell T’Shunn Maple suffering from gunshot wounds inside the apartment. Maple was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Sylacauga Police Department, in collaboration with the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, identified Garrett as a suspect. He was already incarcerated at the Talladega County Jail on unrelated charges when the Capital Murder warrant was served.
Currently, Garrett is being held without bond.
