Kiwanis continued that trend recently, awarding three separate scholarships to recent high school graduates. .
The first scholarship was awarded to Alexis Deale from Sylacauga High School. Her scholarship is worth $1,000.
Two final two scholarships were given to two B.B. Comer High students, Connor Bobo and Allison Hudgins. Both received $500 scholarships.
The Kiwanians also donated to the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement for the Sylacauga Promise School Supply Drive.
Kiwanian Marty Garrett told SylacaugaNews.com the money was raised during the annual Pancake Day event held at Sylacauga High School in the spring.
“This is money raised from the Annual Pancake Day,” he said. “The budget is around $12,000 that we give right back to the community sporting local Kids.”
