SYLACAUGA, Ala. – A groundbreaking ceremony in Malaysia this past week marked the beginning of a new partnership between the Sylacauga-based Pursell Agri-Tech and Wastech Group to bring Pursell’s controlled-release fertilizer technology to Southeast Asia and beyond.
Pursell Agri-Tech CEO Tim Ferguson spoke on behalf of the company during the ground-breaking ceremony, saying, “Partnering with Wastech to build a plant in Malaysia is ideal. It’s located near key substrate and material suppliers and creates opportunities to address diverse nutrition needs in the region in a predictable, prescriptive, and profitable way.”
Pursell Agri-Tech’s controlled-release fertilizers gradually release nutrients to soil over an extended period, insuring that plants receive a consistent supply of essential nutrients, reducing the need for multiple and frequent fertilizer applications.
This results in improved nutrient efficiency, lower labor costs, and less fertilizer waste.
This new partnership will combine Pursell’s delivery technology with Wastech’s expertise and agronomic insights for an advancement into a market that covers Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
