SHARE NOW

SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The students and faculty of Sylacauga High School (SHS) as well as the local community are mourning the tragic death of a soon-to-be senior.

Brighton Clary passed away Thursday morning, June 2, after a fatal accident

Clary had just finished her junior year at SHS where she was a standout varsity softball and volleyball player for the Lady Aggies. Clary was a frequent volunteer with organizations in Sylacauga including Veritas and little league softball with the parks and recreation.

Arrangements are still being prepared with Curtis & Son Funeral Home and will be shared at a later date.

A candlelight vigil will take place Friday night, June 3, at the Pinecrest Softball Field off of Hwy 280 from 7:45 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. The vigil is for players, parents and staff members of SCS.

For those in need of support during this emotional time, SHS and Nichols-Lawson Middle School have set up extra counseling opportunities on both campuses.
