SYLACAUGA, Ala. – After an excellent senior season, Sylacauga Aggie athlete J’Qwon Brownfield has made his decision on where he will play at the next level.
The outside linebacker prospect signed with the Georgia Knights Prep Academy (GKPA). Located in Snellville, the Georgia Knights were founded in 2018 and play in the Post Grad Football League.
“I really like their defense and how they press a lot,” said Brownfield when asked what made him chooses the Knights. “I’m a real defensive guy so I like to get as many tackles as I can.”
Brownfield said that GKPA likes him as a hybrid outside linebacker and strong safety.
Aggie football coach Rob Carter talked highly of Brownfield at the signing, saying that he’s “very proud” of the Class of 2022 standout.
“This, for me, was a great experience all around for the three years I was [at Sylacauga],” Brownfield said. “I transferred from B.B. Comer and came over as an outsider. They put their trust in me from day one. They instilled in me the tools I need. Sylacauga is a great program, and they helped me succeed to [earn] a scholarship.”
During the 2022 season, Brownfield recorded 70 total tackles from his linebacker position while also splitting time as a fullback on offense.
