SYLACAUGA, Ala. – Businesses continue to open throughout the City of Sylacauga.
On Friday morning, the Sylacauga Eye Clinic held its grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony with the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce.
The owner and optometrist at the clinic, Jessica Palmer, has 12 years of experience in the business. Her first job in the field was actually in the building in which will will now operate. “I am very excited to have my own clinic in the city I started my career in,” Palmer stated. “We are ready to get to work and help the people in this city.”
Located on N. Elm Ave., just across the street from the Sonic Drive-In restaurant, the clinic has doctors which come to the facility and specialize in certain areas. She plans to bring more specialists to her clinic in the future to offer treatments such as vision therapy to help those who may suffer from a crossed or lazy eye.
Palmer’s clinic will start out conduct general eye exams to search for eye diseases or common issues, cataract and lasik evaluations, and sell a variety of brands of seeing eye glasses as well as contact lenses.
A benefit of using her business, according to Palmer, is the variety of insurance plans it accepts. She said Sylacauga Eye Clinic will accept almost every insurance policy which you will not see at most clinics.
