SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga Commercial Development Authority (SCDA) has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Pursell Investments L.P. LTD, cemented through an exclusive Master Development and Option Agreement.
Effective Tuesday, April 30, 2024, this historic pact marks another significant stride in the progression of commercial development within Sylacauga.
Under this pivotal agreement, the SCDA secures the exclusive option to serve as the Master Developer for the following three prime property parcels:
1. Property parcel #28-07-25-4-000-005.000, described as: COM @ SW COR OF SE1/4 OF SEC 25 T21S R3E. TH N 206.26′ TO POB. TH N 1491.88′ TO S R/W OF U S HWY 280. TH SELY ALG S R/W 180 2.75′, S 272.09′, TO N R/W OF RR. TH W ALG RR R/W TO POB.
2. Adjacent property parcel #28-07-25-3-000-004.001, described as: COM AT SE COR OF SEC 25 T21S R3E, TH N TO NORTH R/W OF L&N RR & POB. TH CONT N TO SW R/W OF HWY 280. TH NW ALG HWY 226.99′, TO E/S OF 120′ DRAINAGE DITCH, TH SW ALG DITCH 646.03′, SW 371.65′, SW 748.64′ TO N R/W OF RR. TH E ALG RR R/W 830.87′ TO POB.
3. Property parcel #2807362000001000, described as: ALL THAT PART E1/2 NW1/4 LYING N OF FAYETTEVILLE ROAD LESS & EXCEPT: LOUISVILLE NASHVILLE RAILROAD SEC 36 T21S R3E ALSO: THAT PART SE1/4 SW1/4 SEC 25 T21S R3E LYING SOUTH OF LOUISVILL NASHVILLE RAILROAD

“We have had numerical discussions, and there are many name brand stores which have been mentioned,” Taunton added. “My personal hope is that we are able to recruit something in the way of family entertainment. I see this as a huge opportunity in our community.”
