SYLACAUGA, Ala. – During last Wednesday’s storm which saw heavy rainfall and caused water damage to multiple businesses due to flooding, a lightning strike abruptly changed the communication methods for the Sylacauga City School (SCS) system.
On June 8, the Central Office of the SCS suffered a lightning strike which severed the telephone service for the office as well as all of the schools within the system.
The issue is currently being worked on, but for the time being, the system is asking that you email [email protected] if you need to contact a faculty member at any school.
That email will be monitored regularly with questions or concerns forwarded to the appropriate school or individual.
SCS says that it could be several weeks until the phone lines are restored.
